WHEN TO COME |
|
The Highlands are at their busiest in July and August but our many
returning visitors come back to Lochcarron in May or September, outside
the midgy season. Increasingly, more visitors come in April and October
when the roads are less busy - in these months most restaurants and
craft shops are open and there is the added bonus of snow on the
hills.

Walkers find the local hills in mid-winter a major attraction,
combining challenging days out with magnificent views.

On weather - yes, the west coast of Scotland can be wet, sometimes
misty. Summers are cool with temperatures rarely exceeding 23oC
while winters can be cold with snow on the hills from October to May.
But this is why on sunny days the hills of Scotland are a stunning
green, gold and purple colour!
